There was only one game tonight, and it was a pretty non-eventful one. The Capitals traveled to New Jersey and battled it out with the Devils in a close contest. My short analysis of this one below.

CAPITALS @ DEVILS
The Caps are playing well right now for the most part, and they continued that trend in New Jersey. The Devils fought hard all game long, especially defensively, but still fell 2-1 in overtime. The Capitals are now first place in the East division again, but Pittsburgh and the Islanders are right there with them in contention for the division title. The Caps' goaltending has been shaky lately, but played better tonight and got them a huge 2 points in a division where you can't afford to give them up. New Jersey is at the bottom of the standings because of their inability to finish the close game, and this one was a prime example of that. Two defensemen scored for Washington, and that's what it took to beat a stellar Mackenzie Blackwood in goal.
Scoring:
Capitals: John Carlson (10), Dimitry Orlov (5 - OT Winner).
Devils: Michael McLeod (6).
Standings Update After Tonight:
