East Division Update - April 8th

There were four games in the division tonight, meaning all 8 teams played making for a lot of good hockey. Pittsburgh played at MSG again, the Sabers hosted the Devils, the Flyers traveled to long Island and Boston traveled to Washington D.C. My analysis of each game below.

PENGUINS @ RANGERS
Pittsburgh gets the bounce-back win, the defense returns to normal in 5-2 win at MSG.
Scoring and Goaltending:
Penguins: Rahim Zahorna (2), Kris Letang (7), Evan Rodrigues (5 - PPG), Jason Zucker (6), Mark Jankowski (4 - EN). Goaltending: Tristan Jarry, allowed 2 goals on 24 shots.
Rangers: Colin Blackwell (11 - PPG), Kevin Rooney (6). Goaltending: Igor Shesterkin, allowed 4 goals on 31 shots.
BRUINS @ CAPITALS
Boston dominates special teams, holds Washington to few chances in 4-2 road win.
Scoring and Goaltending:
Bruins: Jeremy Lauzon (1), Anton Blidh (1), Brad Marchand (19 - SHG), Craig Smith (7 - PPG). Goaltending: Jeremy Swayman, allowed 2 goals on 33 shots.
Capitals: Alex Ovechkin (20 - PPG), T.J. Oshie (12 - PPG). Goaltending: Illya Samsonov, allowed 4 goals on 32 shots.
FLYERS @ ISLANDERS
Philly loses another close one, Isles keep East lead in 3-2 Shootout win following Palmieri, Zajac trade.
Scoring and Goaltending:
Flyers: Nicholas Aube-Kubel (3), Jakub Voracek (7). Goaltending: Carter Hart, allowed 2 goals on 23 shots and the shootout winner.
Islanders: Brock Nelson (15), Jordan Eberle (14). Shootout: Brock Nelson (WInner). Goaltending: Illya Sorokin, allowed 2 goals on 27 shots.
DEVILS @ SABERS
Devils score 3 unanswered in third, Buffalo falls again while holding Taylor Hall out for possible trade reasons.

Sabers: Victor Oloffson (11), Tage Thompson (3 - PPG), Jeff Skinner (4). Goaltending: Linus Ullmark, allowed 5 goals on 37 shots.
