There was only one game in the division tonight, which doesn't happen very often. The game featured two teams looking for wins, the Flyers, and the New York Rangers. These two met at Wells Fargo Center for only the second time this year, with New York winning the first in a shootout. The Rangers were coming off a win in Washington last week, while the Flyers were looking for a big rebound after an embarrassing 7-3 loss at Lake Tahoe last Sunday night. The Flyers won the close one here, 4-3, getting big contributions from their defenseman and depth forwards. Philly desperately needed this win, as they had to get going in the division. The Rangers got a hattrick from Chris Kreider, but it wasn't enough to get the win.

Scoring:

1st Period: Flyers: Erik Gustaffson, 1st of the season (Even Strength), Shayne Gostisbehere, 1st of the season (PPG). Rangers: Chris Kreider, 6th of the season (PPG).

2nd Period: Flyers: James Van Riemsdyk, 9th of the season (PPG), Kevin Hayes, 7th of the season (Even Strength). Rangers: Chris Kreider, 7th of the season (PPG).

3rd Period: Rangers: Chris Kreider, 8th of the season (Hattrick Goal, Even Strength)

  2. Washington

  3. Philidelphia

Tough division! Besides Boston being at the top, it seems like the standings change every single night.
