The NHL announced today that it would be paring with ESPN and Disney for the next 7 years, which means all games starting in the fall will be broadcast on ESPN Networks. The NHL is also going to be airing the Stanely Cup Final on ABC, as opposed to NBC Sports Championship Season covering the event. This is major news for the NHL and ESPN because ESPN carried professional hockey in the '90s until NBC took over as the prime broadcasting network.
